About the event

We will look at the Social Determinants of Health, frequently used terms, pronouns/names and why they matter, the physical challenges and changes experienced including Gender Affirming hormone therapy and surgery. This will not be a space for addressing politics or public policy; the intent is to increase our awareness as healthcare providers of our clients' experience of inequity in healthcare and how we can provide conscious, considerate care. Bring a snack or lunch, an open heart and mind, and anything else you need to be comfortable.
Laurel Bourge, LMT, is proud to consider herself part of the LGBTQ+ community. Her role as a care provider began in the late 1980s in response to HIV/AIDS.
